Shipping Policy
Serenity Valley Farms · Monticello, Kentucky
Everything we sell is perishable, so how we ship matters as much as what we ship. Here's exactly how it works.
---
Where we ship
We ship to all 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia.
We are not currently able to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or international destinations. We hold every shipment to a strict two-day transit limit so it arrives frozen, and we can't reliably meet that on those routes. If that changes, we'll announce it here first.
When we ship
Orders are packed and shipped Mondays and Tuesdays only. This is deliberate — with a two-day transit, a Monday box lands Wednesday and a Tuesday box lands Thursday, so nothing is ever in a carrier facility over a weekend.
Orders placed after Tuesday morning ship the following Monday. If you order Tuesday afternoon, your box leaves in six days — worth knowing if you're timing it for an occasion. You'll receive tracking by email as soon as your label is created.
We may hold a shipment by a day or two during extreme heat, severe weather, or a carrier service disruption if we believe your order would be at risk. If we do, we'll email you before we hold it.
How long it takes
Nothing we ship spends more than two business days in transit. Closer to the farm your box travels by ground; farther out we put it on a plane to hold the same two-day promise.
Transit time is counted from the day your box leaves the farm, not from the day you ordered.
What shipping costs
Shipping is priced by zone, because a box flown to the West Coast genuinely costs us several times what a box trucked across Kentucky does. Rather than hide that in the price of every steak, we show it.
Each zone has an order value above which shipping is free, and a reduced rate as your order grows toward it. Your exact rate is calculated at checkout, and you can look up your state's thresholds any time on our Shipping Details page.
How your order is packed
Your order is vacuum-sealed, packed in an insulated liner, and shipped with dry ice sized to outlast the transit time for your zone with margin to spare.
Dry ice is extremely cold. Do not handle it with bare hands. Keep it away from children and pets, and let any remaining dry ice evaporate in a well-ventilated area — never in a sealed container, a closed room, or a drain.
Delivery
No signature is required. Carriers will leave your box at your door.
Please plan to bring your order inside the day it arrives. Our packaging is built to protect your food through transit, not to sit in the sun on a porch afterward. If you won't be home, consider shipping to a work address or somewhere a neighbor can collect it.
Some items may be partially thawed but still cold to the touch on arrival. This is normal and the food is safe — refreeze or refrigerate it promptly.
If something arrives wrong
If your order arrives thawed to room temperature, damaged, incorrect, or incomplete, contact us within 24 hours of delivery with a photo and we will replace it or refund it — your choice.
You don't need to send anything back. Because we ship perishable food, we don't accept returns; we replace or refund instead. The full terms are in our Guarantee & Refund Policy.
Address accuracy, refused, and undeliverable orders
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. We ship exactly to the address entered.
If a shipment is returned to us as undeliverable, refused, or unclaimed, the contents cannot be resold and are discarded for food-safety reasons. In those cases we are not able to offer a refund. If you spot a mistake in your address, email us immediately — if the box hasn't left the farm we can fix it at no charge.
Weather and carrier delays
Once your box is in the carrier's hands, its schedule is theirs. We can't control weather events, mechanical delays, or regional service disruptions.
That said: if a carrier delay causes your order to arrive unsafe to eat, we'll make it right. That's our problem, not yours.
Local pickup
If you're near the farm, choose local pickup at checkout and skip shipping entirely. We'll email you when your order is boxed and ready, along with pickup hours.
Questions
Email us before you order if you're unsure about anything — timing, packaging, a gift going to a different address. We'd rather answer a question than replace a box.
